Lissa Hunter

Lissa Hunter (b. 1945 Indianapolis, IN) is a sculptor, who creates contemporary coiled baskets and currently resides in Portland, ME. Her baskets are covered with paper, then painted, and adorned. She displays her work on wall-mounted boxes.

She received a B.A. from Indiana University and a M.F.A. from Indiana University in Textile Design. Her work can be found in the collections of the Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, the Museum of Art and Design, Museum of Fine Arts, M.H. de Young Museum, among others.
