Bennett Bean

Bennett Bean (b. 1941 Cincinnati, OH) is a sculptor and painter who works in clay. He is primarily known for his hand formed vessels that are decorated post firing with gold leaf and colorful abstract patterns and shapes.

He received a B.F.A. from the State University of Iowa and received his M.F.A. from Claremont College. His work can be found in the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, The White House Collection of American Crafts, and the Museum of Fine Arts, among others.
