Laura Andreson, Bowl, 1939

Andreson is regarded as having guided the first great wave of studio potters as a professor at UCLA, where she impacted thousands of students between the 1930s and 1980s. Her first self-directed studies of clay included classes with Glen Lukens, who developed various glazes like this example, and lessons on the wheel with Gertrud Natzler.
