Craft in Schools: Fairfax Student Work
This exhibition celebrates the culmination of the second year in our partnership with Fairfax High School Visual Arts Magnet. On an almost-monthly basis, Craft in America has sent artist-teachers to lead workshops with Fairfax art students. From basket coiling to ceramic coaster carving, they have taught techniques that the students can incorporate in their own practices. Most importantly, the students walk away with the belief that a successful career in the arts is possible.
The work in this exhibition, installed by the students and teachers themselves, will highlight the fruits of our collaboration, which has inspired students to create, push boundaries, embrace the handmade and be self-sufficient art makers.
