Tis the season of Derbies, royal weddings, and the craft of hat making!
Learn how to make a fascinator under the tutelage of custom milliner, Yvonne Lewis. This workshop presents a unique introduction to the art of millinery. During this fun 3-hour workshop, Yvonne will demonstrate how to create a fabulous fascinator. You will learn traditional millinery techniques used to design and create an elegant or whimsical fascinator perfect for Mother’s Day, a Royal Wedding viewing party, or other special occasion.
Seating is limited. Essential materials will be provided. Sewing experience is not required. Participants are encouraged to bring broken bits of jewelry or other treasured trimmings to incorporate into their designs.
About the Artist: Yvonne Lewis (@hatzylady) is a Los Angeles-based custom milliner and hat making instructor. She specializes in the Old World art of couture millinery where the time-honored tradition of creating one-of-a-kind handmade hats and headpieces is upheld with a modern vision. Yvonne has taught the art of couture millinery through private instruction, at Otis College of Art and Design, Saddleback College, and for special interest groups. She has also created custom collections for Disney Cruise Line, and private clientele, and was the competition coordinator for the annual hat making competition with Fairplex of Los Angeles County. Her goal is to promote and share the art of couture millinery with aspiring milliners and hat enthusiasts whenever possible.
