Redefining the San Andreas Faultline: Women Jewelers Exhibition (September 8 – October 27, 2012)
Showcasing a stellar line-up of nine California’s boldest and brightest female jewelry artists. Taking inspiration from California’s natural landscape and environment of creative experimentalism, their work expands the definition of wearable art in the 21st century. Beauty and style take on new meaning in their capable hands. Additionally, watercolors by renowned pioneering studio jeweler, Merry Renk, will be on view for the first time. Don’t miss this multimedia tribute to California’s jewelry innovators!
Artists: Harriete Estel Berman, Petra Class, Karen Gilbert, Carol Webb, Alexandra Hart, Marianne Hunter, Valerie Mitchell, Marne Ryan, and Christina Smith.
Curated by Carolyn Benesh, Co-editor of Ornament Magazine, an international magazine on wearable art also based in California.
