Discussion: Pilchuck and the Studio Glass Trajectory
Please join us for a discussion on Pilchuck and the Studio Glass Trajectory at the Craft in America Center on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 3pm.
The panel, moderated by curator Jo Lauria and consisting of Pilchuck supporters and artists, will explore how the school has evolved and spread its message of creative glass making through teaching, outreach, and community over the past four decades. Panelists will discuss how Pilchuck has become a proving ground for the once nascent field of studio glass and how it has been an incubator for boundlessly imaginative artists and teachers.

Seeing Into It: Messages in Glass (March 22 – June 28, 2014)
Paul Marioni & Susan Stinsmuehlen-Amend
The Craft in America Center will celebrate the visionary work of rebel glass artists Paul Marioni and Susan Stinsmuehlen-Amend with an exhibition that opens this spring. Both artists, distinguished for their unconventional approach to technique, material and form, have been essential to the development of glass as teachers and creators. Pictorialism, symbolism and message have defined their work and set it apart. The exhibition will feature a selective retrospective of two dozen of the artists’ most meaningful works spanning the 1970s to the present.
