Otis at the Craft in America Center

Otis students in Joan Takayama-Ogawa and Jo Lauria’s Made in LA course visited theĀ Politically Speaking exhibition at the Center today and explored the thematic content of the show vis-a-vis a critical examination of the individual pieces. After viewing the show, they visited Freehand and discussed the shifting role of American craft galleries and how artists present their work to prospective markets via galleries.

The Otis visit to the Politically Speaking jewelry exhibition began with an investigation of our Mira Nakashima table. We found Mira's signature!
