Final 2026 Getty Marrow Intern Post – Ellanora LoGreco

Hi again! This is Ellanora checking in for the last time as Craft in America’s Getty Marrow Undergraduate Intern. My final week is coming to close and I am honestly shocked at how quickly these ten weeks have gone by. 

In the time I’ve spent with Craft in America I have been lucky enough to get my hands on a wide range of projects. The second half of the summer has been focused on the newly released Handwork book, both on physically distributing it and coming up with ways to broaden the book’s reach. This has been a great opportunity to hone both my organizational and social media skills. I enjoyed getting a glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes of a book release and coming up with ways to share the stories of the incredible objects in the book. Each post that went up on social media was a chance for me to read and write about another handcrafted object. It was lovely to see everyone’s hard work celebrated at our book signing last Saturday and get the chance to meet and speak with many of the talented artists and academics involved with Craft in America. 

I also had the opportunity to go to various galleries and arts spaces around Los Angeles with a group of other Getty interns. It was a great chance to get to talk to peers about our work experiences and future aspirations in the field, as well as get a glimpse into other types of arts organizations around the city. 

I am truly grateful for my experience at Craft in America this summer. It has taught me so much about administrative, curatorial, and digital communications/social media work as well as about craft itself, not to mention all of the wonderful people I have gotten to know!
