Award, PBS show celebrate Portland ceramic artist’s influence on craft

Portland ceramic artist Ayumi Horie will be featured in the latest episode of the PBS documentary series “Craft in America.” The hour-long episode is available to stream online and will be broadcast at 9 p.m. Dec. 16 on all PBS stations. Horie also will be honored on Friday by the Maine Craft Association with its annual Craft Artist Award, given to a crafter in recognition of “exceptional bodies of work or contributions to the field.”
