ARTIST TALK: ACTIVE HANDS & RECEPTION OPENING
Active Hands: Craft by Soldiers opened at the Craft in America Center on Saturday, April 25, with a talk by former U.S. Army Crafts Division instructor, Jerome S. Gottschalk. The new exhibit features rare treasures made by soldiers on active duty, as well as historic documentation of the Army Arts and Crafts Program, which has allowed thousands of soldiers and their families to find respite in the handmade since World War II. Active Hands is on view at the Center through July 4, 2015.
