Thomas Latané
Thomas Latané is an artist-blacksmith who began forging steel and working wood by hand during the early 1970s. Since 1983, he has created original hand-forged ironwork from his Pepin, Wisconsin workshop in traditional Gothic, Renaissance, Scandinavian and Early American styles. working alongside his wife, Catherine His practice is rooted in pre-industrial technology, employing traditional techniques to forge functional hardware in historical styles, with a deep respect for the accomplishments of early craftspeople. A skilled woodworker, he often unites these two disciplines in his work.
