Seth Gould

Seth Gould is a metalsmith and tool maker who earned his BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design from the Maine College of Art in 2009. Each of his pieces, ranging from simple tools to highly embellished locks, begins in a coal forge and is meticulously finished by hand with files, hammer, and chisel. Gould’s work is held in the permanent collections of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Mint Museum, and in 2022 he received the prestigious Emerging Award of Excellence from the Japan Kogei Association. He now lives and works from his home studio in Massachusetts, continuing to bridge historical craft with contemporary artistry.
