Richard Petterson

Petterson was raised in China and his interest in historic Chinese ceramics fueled his work. He headed the ceramic department at Scripps, invigorated the Ceramic Annuals, and invited Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada to the school in 1952. Petterson also worked with Millard Sheets on the craft displays at the influential LA County Fairs.
