Colette Fu

Colette Fu is a Philadelphia-based artist who received her MFA in Fine Art Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2003. Soon after, she began devising complex compositions that incorporate photography and pop-up paper engineering. A significant turning point in her career was a 2008 Fulbright Research Fellowship to China, which fueled her in-depth visual exploration of China’s ethnic minorities, especially in Yunnan Province, her mother’s birthplace. This journey reinforced her connection with heritage and shaped her artistic path. Beyond her studio, Fu is a devoted educator, leading international pop-up courses and workshops to empower communities through art.
