Cheri Dunnigan
Cheri Dunnigan is a master goldsmith and nationally recognized landscape painter. She grew up outside of Boston in Framingham, Massachusetts.
Cheri was born with a strong creative drive, and was blessed with parents who both recognized and nurtured her artistic interests and ambition. As a result she was able to begin to develop her artistic talent at an early age. She made her first piece of sterling silver jewelry at the age of 15. This experience lit a passion that set the course of her studies over the next seven years. Cheri went on to attend the Cleveland Institute of Art where she studied with John Paul Miller and earned a five year Bachelor of Fine Art’s Degree specifically in Silversmithing in 1978.
Cheri worked as a designer craftsman maintaining a studio showroom in Hopkinson, Massachusetts for many years.
In 1998 health problems forced Cheri to give up metalsmithing. At that time she turned her creative energies towards pastel painting, and with pastels she found a new passion. Painting had a tremendously therapeutic effect on her health, and before long she found herself launched into a new career. Within a few short years Cheri had achieved Signature credentials with the Pastel Society of America.
In 2012, with renewed health and vigor Cheri began working with metal again. Today she maintains a studio in her home in Naples, Florida where she creates one of a kind and limited edition jewelry as well as woven hollow ware and vessel forms. Her work has been exhibited nationally and she has won numerous awards.
Her work can be seen at www.cheridunniganjewelry.com and is represented by The Gallery at The Ritz Carlton Beach Resort in Naples, Florida.
