Bayle Owens
Bayle grew up in a family working in craft (Vernon, Pam and Travis Owens) who own Jugtown Pottery, an American Craft Shop located in Seagrove, NC. As a child, she spent a large amount of time around the business, and early on developed a sense of importance in the quality and design of craft.
Bayle attended Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, NC, received her Associate degree in Professional Craft – Fiber, and is certified by the North Carolina Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning Program.
Following the path of her great grandmother, who spun wool to make socks, scarves, and hats, Bayle decided to spend her life as a fiber artist in 2010. Always intrigued by all things fiber, she studied hand weaving, sewing, and various other fiber techniques in the Professional Crafts Program at Haywood Community College.
