North House Folk School

Located on the shore of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota, North House Folk School has been working since 1997 to enrich lives and build community through the teaching of traditional northern crafts.

Founded on the Danish folk school model of education, North House Folk School offers 300+ courses throughout the year in a variety of traditional craft medium. From Inuit soapstone carving to Swedish styles of woodworking, traditional timber framing to wooden boat building, wood-fired baking to field-based ecology courses, the instructors who teach at North House are accomplished educators and skilled in their respective fields, committed to sharing inspiration in the crafts they teach and the skills they present.
