Stanley Lechtzin (b. 1936) is a jewelry artist who uses the electroforming process, which allows him to create wearable, large scale, lightweight jewelry. This process also allows for the combination of materials that were previously difficult or impossible to achieve, like plastics. He also creates works using computer-aided design (CAD).
He is currently a Professor and Head of Metals/Jewelry Department at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. He received his B.F.A. from Wayne State University and his M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work can be found in the collections of the Musem of Arts and Design, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, The Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
