Marvin Lipofsky (b. 1938) is a glass artist in Berkeley, California. He holds a B.F.A. from the University of Illinois, Champagne-Urbana and studied with Harvey Littleton (a pioneer of the studio art glass movement) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he received his M.F.A. in 1964.
He is known for his organic forms and colorful nonfunctional glass objects. He founded the glass program at California College of Arts and introduced glass into the Design Department at the University of California, Berkeley. His work can be found in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Arts and Design, Oakland Museum of California, the Renwick Gallery, and the Tacoma Art Museum, among others.
